Blue Daze are great for a colorful ground over or for a hanging basket in the full sun. They can get about 10 in tall and will bloom all year long. With the proper care they can live multiple years. We recommend using the All-Purpose Osmocote granular every three months to keep blooms coming and the foliage green. Although they can take partial shade, they would have less blooms in that exposure, more sun will get you more blooms! Blue Daze are a great option for a costal home. This is because they can tolerate slightly sandy soil that we have in our area, especially along the coast. They can also handle that salty air near the beach. Being a very tropical flower, if temperatures reach below 40s, they will drop some blooms, but they can recover. Blue Daze is in hardiness zones 8-11, so they are a perfect match for our SWFL area.
Fun Fact!
Blue daze is one of the only natural, true-blue flowers able to grow in our area. The vibrant blue blooms will close as the sun goes down or clouds come out and then reopen again when the sun is out in the morning.
