Mona Lavender
Plectranthus
not valid on prior purchases • cash & carry
Mona Lavender loves our SWFL fall and winter. This is because they prefer shorter and cooler days. They will produce their lavender-colored blooms up until the spring before taking a break in the summer. Even without blooms, their foliage makes them an attractive plant. With dark green leaves that have a deep purple underside, they are a unique, eye-catching plant. Mona Lavender will get about 2 ft tall and form a round bush. We use the Dynamite All-purpose fertilizer to keep them fed and they love the full sun. Without full sun, these plants will not be able to produce as many flowers. Since they don’t get very big, they don’t need much pruning. You can trim these plants to keep your desired shape or height.
Fun Fact!
If you want to share the beautiful blooms of the Mona Lavender, you can easily propagate! Propagate this plant by a stem cutting. Cut a healthy piece about 5 in long and remove the bottom-most leaves. There are two methods of getting these plants to root, soil and water. Water propagating is done by keeping the bottom part of the stem in water, and soon you will see roots forming! After your roots get a few inches long, you are ready to plant! Soil propagation is done by planting the bottom half of your cutting in a well-draining soil and the plant will eventually grow roots. Be sure to keep your cuttings in a bright light or sunny area and keep the water clean. This is a great way to multiply your plants or share with friends!
