Agapanthus, also known as lily of the Nile, blooms in spring and summer with a beautiful blue flower spike. The bloom spikes can reach up to 3ft tall over time and have a large cluster of flowers. These flower spikes turn into seed pods, which can also be very attractive. Their grassy foliage offers a break in the landscaping. Agapanthus attracts pollinators and is considered a Florida Friendly plant. They are native to South Africa and do well in zones 9-11. As they grow, they spread in clumps and can fill in an area very nicely. They can also be kept in containers to highlight their beautiful blooms. Keep yours in the full sun and fertilize regularly with the Sure-Gro 6-8-10.
