Foxtail Fern
Asparagus densiflorus “Myersii”
not valid on prior purchases • cash & carry
Foxtail fern, or Asparagus densiflorus “Myersii”, has a fern-like appearance but is not considered a true fern. Its feathery bright green fronds resemble the shape of a fox’s tail and will add soft texture to your landscape. They mix well with other perennials and can also be used as a stand-alone border or backdrop for that wow factor! Foxtail ferns grow in clusters about 2’ tall and tolerate full sun to part shade. They grow on tuberous roots that store water making them highly drought tolerant therefore well-drained soil is recommended. Trim back any yellow or brown stems as needed to encourage new growth.
Fun Fact!
Foxtail Fern is native to coastal areas in South Africa. This evergreen perennial is not a true fern. Instead of developing spores to reproduce, as true ferns do, the Foxtail fern will produce tiny white flowers followed by bright red berries that contain their seeds.
