Ornamental Passion Flower Vines are fast growing vines with one of a kind unique flowers that are attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies, and other wildlife. The small ornamental fruits that are produced are relished by squirrels and birds but are not tasty to humans. The passion fruit that is prized for its juice comes from a different variety of passiflora known as Passiflora edulis, Passiflora ligulari, and Passiflora incarnata to name a few. All varieties, ornamental and edible, produce the exotic flower in many unique colors and patterns, some of which are fragrant. Plant yours near a tree, fence or trellis in sun to part shade where it will be able to roam as it will grow large. Prune when needed to keep foliage in check. Fun Fact!
The Red Passion Flower does not attract butterflies to lay eggs as the leaves are toxic to the caterpillars and therefore the foliage is not foraged by them. Choose another color if your goal is to attract butterflies
